Her first vehicle

Now there's a happy girl! She's impressed by her dad's abilities. He can probably do any job, we call him "Jack of all trades".
Her first vehicle is getting a slight makeover, rust gone!!
(Now where is his mask!!)

My old china cabinet

I have to do something with this old cabinet. It use to belong to my late aunt and I use to like it, but now, it's an eye sore! It's not an expensive piece at all, probably purchased at a Woolco back in the day. I have some oil based glaze (Benjamin Moore) into which you can add oil based paints to to give it a totally different color finish. I'll use this glazing product to cut down on the prepping. Wish me luck!

There it is. In one of my previous posts, I haven't had that many yet, I began priming a goodwill find. It's finished. Yesterday I put the flowers I received from my daughter on it. It's not exactly my style, but it works for now. Let's call it part of my eclectic style. LOL

Oldest daughter

There she is with her new haircut. It looks great on her. She took the leap and followed a boy and is now living her new adventure in Southern Ontario. She'll continue her teaching career where the sun's warmth last longer than here in the North.

Here is a little bench I got at goodwill, under 5$. I haven't done a thing with it yet. Low and behold, I came across a very similar bench on Blueprint Bliss today. I can't wait to see what she will do with her find. I'll be inspired for sure... Notice mine has a little nesting place under the lid...probably was for sewing stuff or sheet music.

This is my little internet center. It's another goodwill find. I didn't pay much for this one either. I painted it dark brown and had to add another hole to accommodate the inexpensive Home Depot hardware (3$ each) the little bench I got for free it was just an old, scratched up odd bench. I'm going to use the same hardware for my coffee table.

$5.00 coffee table

I found this oversized end table at my Goodwill store. I'm using Kilz primer first, then brown latex paint. I'll go over the brown with some darker brown and black to give it a faux wood finish. Then vanish. I'm going to add some handles on both sides to make it look like a coffee table. I don't like the top scroll much, so I'm going to get rid of that look with wood I found in the garage. I'll just tack it over the scroll.

Dave Carroll's song "Now"

The lyrics to Dave Carroll's song are so inspiring. I love it...

When there's no way out there's still a way through
So don't give up whatever you do
Surrender to moments and things as they are
From the gaps in your catch-22's
When there's no way out there's still a way through

Cause Now's all there is
So peaceful and still
In Now you don't worry about what's happened or what will
Cause Now never ends
And Now's never been
And all of your answers are waiting for you here, Now

When your world stands tough and weighin' you down
And you've had enough of this merry-go-round
End your resistance to walls you won't move
And runnin' through old déjà vus
When there's no way out, there's still a way through

And when you don't understand
How things got so far away from all you planned
And your life it feels so hard
In your fragile house of cards
Turn to your cornerstone, when you're tired and feel alone
To find your way through

I'm back from my annual trip to Ottawa. This is our 4th mom and daughter trip. My mom looks forward to this trip, and anticipates the next, the day we're back. So funny.
Like her I Loved it! I can't wait for next year too! Thank you Lil and Gary for our day trip to Merrickville. Notice the ladies reflected in the window. I thought this pic didn't turn out, but I think it did!!!

At the cottage

We painted this 2$ find with chalk board paint, and placed it coming down the stairs for our guests. Now they have a cute place to hand their things on. :)
I've been at the cottage with my mom. We cut some pine tree branches. Made a big fire, added a few little things, painted and made it all clean for next week-end's family coming up from T.O. . It sure was fun using the power washer on the old cement pads outside!!!!

Missing my girl

This is a pic I like of my youngest girl. Squinting in the sun, she's working at a fly-in fishing camp in northern Ontario. Dale's there with her, you see him in the background here.

They both manage the camp, they just love fishing!!

Both are recent Bachelor's of Education graduates!! Yoot, Yoot! Two more teachers!!!
